TAXATA was founded in 2010 to offer clients independent substantiated expert valuations / appraisals of fine art and antiques. To do so, TAXATA works with a flexible team of independent qualified experts to offer high quality valuations in a.o. the following areas:

  • European fine art 1500 – now (with an emphasis on Dutch art)
  • European decorative art and antiques
  • Objects in the cultural heritage realm / museum collections
  • Public art / monumental artworks
  • Artworks and objects with a special provenance

TAXATA has ample experience in the valuation of high value (<25 million euro) objects and museum collections, -please see clients – and serves as a valuable advisor and sparring partner in research-, valuation- and claims settlement issues.

RICS Red Book / International Valuation Standards (IVS)
When valuation reports are used as a base for financial decisions / the insurance of high value objects and collections / donations to museums, a solid basis for the valuation, transparency about process and considerations, and additional assurances of independence and expertise are appropriate. TAXATA is currently (2018/2019) developing valuations according to IVS standards.

TAXATA director Patricia Jansma is the editor and co-author and editor of Federatie TMV curriculum for auctioneers, and writes about -among others- valuation.

She is a proud member of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and PAIAM (Professional Advisors to the International Art Market).
